The president of Wärtsilä Sweden AB has been released from custody. The special audit on the company’s operations continues. The special audit has so far confirmed that the commissions paid by Wärtsilä Sweden are based on agreed deals for which the company has been paid. The audit supports Wärtsilä’s general view that it has been justified in revising its internal guidelines on the use of brokers. The company has recently renewed these guidelines. Nothing has emerged in Wärtsilä Sweden AB that would connect the company to the Gotland case last autumn.
“We take any suspicions concerning the company’s activities most seriously. Wärtsilä aims to be a reliable business partner and responsible corporate citizen. The company will take appropriate action if any indications of misconduct are found,” states President and CEO Ole Johansson.
