Wärtsilä in partnership with Templar Executives has opened the first International Maritime Cyber Centre of Excellence (IMCCE) in Singapore.
The IMCCE consists of a Maritime Cyber Emergency Response Team (MCERT) and a cyber academy (T-CAM). The IMCCE is a world’s first industry solution for the marine industry, founded by Wärtsilä together with its strategic partner in cyber security, Templar Executives. The IMCCE provides a focal point for the industry to help drive the cyber awareness and response to cyber incidents. The cyber academy will offer courses designed to support and enhance the collective cyber maturity of the wider shipping community, notably operators and owners.
The MCERT provides international intelligence feeds and information to and from the global Maritime community through the Cyber Security Reporting Portal (CSRP) to develop a rich intelligence picture for members. The MCERT also provides advice and support, including real time assistance, to members on Cyber attacks and incidents. The MCERT will help develop the Cyber Security capability of the Maritime sector by increasing awareness and taking effective actions, which prevent as well as address Cyber incidents. The MCERT operates from the Wärtsilä Acceleration Centre facilities in Singapore.
