Wärtsilä Italia S.p.A. announces that on 15th April 2019 Mr. Andrea Bochicchio takes over the role of President & Managing Director of Wärtsilä Italia S.p.A. Andrea succeeds Mr. Guido Barbazza, who will continue in his role as Project Director within Wärtsilä Marine Business.
Andrea Bochicchio has been Director of Manufacturing within Wärtsilä Marine Business and member of Marine Power Solutions Management team since 2017, roles that he maintains together with his mandate as President & Managing Director of the Company.
Andrea began his career in Wärtsilä Italia in 2001 as Product and Project Manager in Production until 2003. For 11 years he held various roles in 4-stroke Product Engineering and in 2012 he took over the lead of the entire Product Engineering of Wärtsilä 4-stroke. In 2014 he became Director of the production plant of San Dorligo della Valle (Trieste) and in 2015 Director of the Product Company Large Bore, organization that included the operational and profitability responsibilities of the Large Bore 4-stroke engine portfolio.
Since 2017 Andrea has also been Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wärtsilä Hyundai Engine Company (WHEC) and of CSSC Wärtsilä Engine Company (CWEC).
