Recruitment process at Wärtsilä
All externally open vacancies at Wärtsilä are visible at our careers site at careers.wartsila.com. When you decide to apply for an open position, you will need to create a profile on our career site. We can only accept applications that are submitted through our careers site.
Once you've submitted your application, you will receive a confirmation email that we've received your application in our recruitment system. We aim to get back to all candidates within two weeks from application deadline. Usually we are pretty good at this, but sometimes the process can take a bit longer. We want to keep our applicants updated on the process all the way.
After we've screened the applications, we invite most suitable candidates to the next round of the application process. This is usually either a pre-recorded video interview or a real-time interview, depending on the amount of candidates in this stage. The interviews are a good way to learn more about the position and work at Wärtsilä in general, while we also get to know you better professionally. During the interview rounds, we might even have a pre-task, work simulation or assessments prepared for candidates, to support the final decision making and to ensure we are the best possible match.
Before signing a contract with the final candidate, depending on country specific policies, there are reference and background checks done. In some countries, a medical and drug test is also required.
