Market Development Analyst Stuti Gandotra has worked for Wärtsilä for three years. In this position, she is responsible for the framework development & customer development activities in the Middle East & Asia region. She conducts studies on different electricity markets and analyses the trends in the power industry. She also supports the business development efforts by preparing the analytical models and comparisons.
After two years of working with market development projects in India, Stuti wanted to take up international challenges and broaden her horizons by working with people globally.
“I was offered to go on a 6 months long job rotation in Advisory Services (Energy Solutions) in Vaasa, Finland. It was a great experience. I got to work closely with sales projects all over the world and develop my modelling skills that are used to analyse electricity markets”, she says.
Developing leadership skills
In Wärtsilä, employees can go on job rotations to learn new skills and broaden their experience. Stuti Gandotra appreciates the career opportunities Wärtsilä offers and says that young professionals have good opportunities to grow and develop their leadership skills in the company.
“I like that we have a flat organisation in Wärtsilä. You get to work independently and take part in decision-making processes already from an early stage”, she says.
In the future Stuti would like to work more on the business development and raise the living standard all over the world by providing clean, efficient and flexible power.
“I would like to contribute more for the business development and sales projects in the Middle East and Asia region. It is an advantage for Wärtsilä to have sales people of different nationality, age and gender when we meet with our different customers”, she finishes.
