In Situ Machining
With Wärtsilä’s extensive and effective range of in situ machining options, the engine can be up and running in the shortest possible time. Although the in situ machining is centred around recovering damaged crankshafts with crankpin diameters between 170 and 700 millimetres, there is a whole array of other options either in use or in development.
In situ machining is always beneficial wherever dismantling and transportation of the component is in need of repair.
