1978
Regional office was set up.

1981
Wärtsilä Power Singapore, a joint venture company with Keppel was set up.

1986
Wärtsilä took over Keppel’s shares.

1989
First Vasa 22 engine was assembled in Indonesia.

1990
Stork-Werkspoor Singapore merged with Wärtsilä in Singapore.

1992
Setting up of a representative office in the Philippines.

1994
Opening of Wärtsilä Diesel Vietnam Representative Office.

1996
Merger with New Sulzer Diesel.

2000
Wärtsilä Malaysia Sdn Bhd was established.

2001
Certification of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in February.

2002
Singapore Quality Class (SQC) Award by Singapore Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) in February.
Acquisition of John Crane-Lips (since renamed Wärtsilä Propulsion) and Chuwac Engineering.
Acquisition of MTQ Engrg Pte Ltd, Ciserv Singapore Pte Ltd was established.
Wärtsilä Propulsion (WP) and Chuwac Engineering (CE) moved into Wärtsilä Singapore’s premises.

2004
Purchased the 36,000 m2 workshop from Van Der Horst at Pandan Crescent.
Wärtsilä Singapore and Ciserv Singapore was relocated under one roof at Pandan Crescent.
The original 10,000 m2 workshop at Benoi Crescent was delicated at Logistics Centre.

2005
Inauguration of Wärtsilä Group of Companies.

2006
Integration of Ciserv Singapore into Wärtsilä Singapore Pte Ltd and a new division called Wärtsilä
Services is formed.
Acquired Total  Automation.
