Wärtsilä In-situ machining

With Wärtsilä’s effective range of in-situ machining options, the engine can be up and running in the shortest possible time. With in-situ machining, Workshop quality machining can be performed on site using specially designed equipment.Our proprietary in-situ machining equipment is centered around the repair of damaged crankshafts with crankpin diameters of between 170 and 1 020 millimeters. Larger diameters are handled on a case-by-case basis.

    • Crankshaft and shaft machining Ø 170–1020 mm
    • Line boring of bearing seats and pockets Ø 80–1000 mm (in engine block)
    • Line boring of propeller installation Ø 500–1500 mm
    • Milling/grinding of contact surfaces up to 2300 mm in length
