UNIC C3 Engine Control System for Gas and Dual Fuel Engines

The UNIC C3 is a durable, all-inclusive, automation system specially designed for the harsh environments in which engines operate. The main features include:

The UNIC C3 automation system is an embedded engine management system. The system has a modular design, and some parts and functions in the C3 configuration are optional, depending on the application. The system is specifically designed for demanding engine environments, thus special attention has been paid to temperature- and vibration endurance in the design.

This rugged design allows the system to be directly mounted on the engine, which provides a very compact solution without having to mount the components in dispersed external cabinets or panels. The number of inputs and outputs is determined to optimally suit this application, and the galvanic signal isolation is also made to match these needs.

    The UNIC system is designed to meet very high reliability requirements. This includes special measures for redundancy, fault tolerance, and the mechanical and electrical design.

    The Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) is a test in which stresses applied to the product are well beyond the normal shipping, storage, and in-use levels. HALT provides an accelerated means of finding product design weaknesses, thus making the product more rugged.  All hardware is verified and tested through HALT to ensure reliable operations in the harsh environments in which engines operate.

    The software architecture is renewed in UNIC and more advanced features, such as isochronous load sharing, skip firing etc, are possible. The UNIC software is developed continuously so as to meet all new requirements required in different installations.
