Endeavour

The Endeavour, launched in 2003, is one of the world’s quietest research vessels, and is significantly quieter than the ICES 209 Co-operative Research Report recommendations. (photo courtesy of Michael Page)

A single Fixed Pitch Propeller is driven by three Wärtsilä 6L20 double elastically mounted generating sets producing 3,2 MW. Acoustic noise is reduced to a minimum throughout the working spaces and accommodation.

CEFAS (Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Sciences) is the UK's largest and most diverse applied marine science centre. It helps to shape and implement policy.
