Wärtsilä ELAC PILOS

Wärtsilä ELAC PILOS is a unique pinger localisation sonar designed to detect and track any underwater signal in the frequency range of 1 to 50 kHz. Wärtsilä ELAC PILOS provides the ability to receive UT emergency calls and to detect distress signals generated by various sonar beacon systems.

In order to enhance the system capabilities, Wärtsilä ELAC PILOS can easily be complemented by an active component to convert it into a full active obstacle avoidance sonar. The active mode allows the detection of underwater targets and obstacles.
