Wärtsilä Auxpac 32

The Auxpac 32 is Wärtsilä’s most powerful Auxpac generating set and is based on years of experience and our proven technology.

    Advantages

The new Wärtsilä Auxpac 32 generating set delivers up to a maximum of 4160 kWe for auxiliary power generation. This powerful output, together with its compact design, gives it an outstanding power-to-space ratio on the market. The pre-commissioned standard package offers excellent reliability to ensure the availability of electrical power in sufficient quantity as and when needed. Wärtsilä’s energy efficient engine technology minimizes emissions to make environmental compliance easier.

    Technical advantages
The Auxpac 32 is available as 6, 7, 8 or 9 cylinder configuration. The embedded engine automation system includes serial bus communication interface to the alarm and monitoring system. This results in a minimum of external cabling. All Wärtsilä Auxpac generating sets are designed to be installed resiliently to the ship’s hull. The resilient installation method enables easy installation and alignment of the generating set within the vessel. The advantage over conventional mounting methods is that it notably reduces the structure-borne noise transmitted from the generating sets to the ship’s hull, thus improving onboard comfort levels.

    Benefits

    • Cost competitive
    • Easy installation
    • Easy operation
    • Pre-engineered
    • Low operation costs
    • Reliable, market-proven HFO design (heavy fuel)
    • Complies with IMO Tier II legislation for NOX
    • Fuel efficient
    • Light, compact design – saving valuable weight in the ship
    • Low vibration & noise level
    • User and maintenance friendly

    Typical application areas
While the Auxpac 32 has been designed as an auxiliary engine for a variety of vessel types, it is especially suited for providing power to merchant vessels including tankers, bulkers with special focus on very large container vessels.

    Operational features
The Wärtsilä Auxpac 32 is able to operate on different fuels, ranging from the lowest LFO viscosity of 2.0 cSt to an HFO viscosity of 700 cSt (at 50 °C). The engine is also able to use low and ultra low sulphur fuel oils (<0.01% S) as per the standards set by authorities for fuel oil used in emission controlled areas.

    Environmental compliance
The engine is fully compliant with IMO Tier II requirements, and when fitted with exhaust gas after treatment solutions reaches Tier III compliance.

    Pre-engineered medium-speed generating sets

Wärtsilä Auxpac generating sets are available in a selected range as pre-engineered and pre-commissioned auxiliary generating sets. The common baseframe is optimised for the package, which together with the compact design of the engine and the selected generator, offers unmatched power-to-space and power-to-weight ratios. Other benefits of pre-engineering include readily available documentation, which also includes models in Tribon® format, and short lead-times.
