This two-day event was held this year in Antigua on May 6 and 7. Customers from Antigua, St Vincent, St Lucia, Grenada, Aruba, Surinam and the British Virgin Islands (BVI) attended, and included personnel from Wärtsilä subsidiaries such as Demerara Power, BVIEC Agreement, and Antigua Energy Operators.
The successful event included a technical tour of power plants operated by Antigua Energy Operators (AEO). There were also well attended technical sessions, and a field experience workshop that was perhaps the most popular aspect of the seminar. Presentations included an HFO Conversion Case Study, given by Victor Hunt, Project Leader for WEB Aruba.
In attendance were technical experts from Wärtsilä to give advice and information concerning the W46, W32 and W38 engines, and to answer related questions from the attendees.
Wärtsilä wishes to thank especially Antigua Energy Operators for its support, both before and during the seminar, Mr Victor Hunt for his interesting case study presentation, and Mr Calid Hassad, General Manager of Antigua Power Company, for sharing his experiences of Wärtsilä’s O&M capabilities.
