In situ machining

One of the specialties of Wärtsilä Engine Services is the in situ machining of main parts and components of engines and propulsion systems. By using all sorts of special tools various forms of machining can take place on location. This mainly concerns the line drilling of the main bearings and the machining of O-ring sealings and base planes of engines. Wärtsila is also specialized in machining stern tubes.
