Wärtsilä, LDM and Sapa standing strong for the future of the non-ferro industry in Drunen

Wärtsilä in The Netherlands, Local News Release 18 March 2008

Metal Valley

Wärtsilä, LDM and Sapa. Three growing metal companies located at the business area Groenewoud in Drunen, in the southern part of the Netherlands. Within these companies there is a lot of expertise and knowledge about copper alloys (messing and bronze) and aluminum. The boards of the three companies do believe this expertise and knowledge should not be wasted. Therefore it is decided to join the powers and create a centre of competence to (amongst other things) make sure skilled personnel will be trained properly. In December 2007 the boards signed an agreement with the name Metal Valley.

Own website
The website www.metalvalley.eu  has been launched on March 14th. Besides extensive information about professional trainings and vacancies, you will also find news on product and process development. This is only the beginning, as Metal Valley can offer much more. On the short term the main goal is working on the image of the non-ferro industry, the mid term goal is to join the powers in working together in the field of recruiting personnel, purchasing materials or services and maintenance. The intention is also that more companies can join this initiative in the near future.
