Wärtsilä in Malaysia

Wärtsilä started its presence in Kuala Lumpur in 1996 as New Sulzer Diesel Representative Office. The Representative Office remained until March 2001 when a local Malaysian company was registered.

In 2002, the staff in Malaysia grew to four employees, and the office was also providing marketing assistance for Wärtsilä's activities within the Marine and Power Industries. In 2006, the staff grew to six employees to cater to the growth in the business. Today, Wärtsilä in Malaysia has 12 employees.
