Appointments to Wärtsilä's Board of Management

The following appointments have been made to Wärtsilä Corporation’s Board of Management, with effect from 1 August 2009:

Christoph Vitzthum (39) MSc (Econ.) has been appointed Group Vice President, Services. He has been Group Vice President, Power Plants and a member of the Board of Management since 2006. Mr Vitzthum joined Wärtsilä as a foreign exchange dealer in 1995, and has since held financial controller and management positions in both Power Plants and Ship Power units in Strasbourg, Zürich, Havant and Helsinki.

Tage Blomberg, the current Group Vice President, Services, will in line with his employment contract retire during 2009.

Vesa Riihimäki (43) MSc (Eng.) has been appointed Group Vice President, Power Plants and a member of the Board of Management. Mr Riihimäki started with Wärtsilä in 1992 as a Design Engineer in the Power Plants project department. He has since held several key positions specialising in power generation systems design and technology. Currently Mr Riihimäki is employed as Vice President within the Power Plants Technology department.
