Mr Jaakko Eskola, Vice President, Sales & Marketing for the Power Plants business has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the World Alliance for Decentralized Energy (WADE) with effect from 1 January 2006.
WADE is an international non-profit research and promotion organisation established in 2002. Its mission is to accelerate the worldwide use of decentralized energy systems including high efficiency combined heat and power plants and renewable energy plants which all bring substantial economic, environmental and social benefits.
Decentralized energy systems are already employed in many countries but are often constrained from the market by outdated energy policies and regulations. One of WADE’s goals is to advocate the reform of these policies.
WADE is supported by corporate leaders in various decentralized energy industries, national cogeneration and decentralized energy associations and a range of private and public institutions.
