Wärtsilä in East Africa was established in 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya to identify and develop available opportunities in power segment in the region in co-operation with governmental institutions and local investors.
The business idea is to provide customer care at local level and provide after sales service, spare parts, training and operate the installations, which today add up to around 720 MW in East Africa. Wärtsilä in East Africa is taking care of the following countries in the region: Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Seychelles, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia and Sudan.
