WMSA 2007

Wärtsilä India Ltd conferred the 5th Wärtsilä-Mantosh Sondhi Award on Dr R K Pachauri, Director General, TERI for his outstanding contribution to the Indian energy sector. The ceremony was held at Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi on October 15^th, 2007. Dr R K Pachauri accepted the prestigious award from Mr. Ole Johansson, President and CEO, Wärtsilä Corporation. Mr. Esko Aho President Sitra, The Finnish Innovative Fund and former Prime Minister, Finland gave a special address and Mr. Bunker Roy, Founder Barefoot College, delivered the Memorial Lecture.

The Wärtsilä-Mantosh Sondhi was instituted in 2003 to recognise outstanding achievements and contributions to the Energy sector. The award is in honour of Wärtsilä India’s Chairman Emeritus, late Mr. Mantosh Sondhi, his value-based leadership, and excellence in the Indian Industry and his immense contribution to the Energy Sector.
