Big Investments in Vaasa
In order to meet the strong level of market demand and to support the company’s growth target Wärtsilä has increased the assembly and testing capacity in Vaasa and Trieste Delivery Centres with an investment of EUR 48 million. EUR 30 million of the investment has been allocated to Vaasa.
The investment in Vaasa covers the construction of a new Assembly hall, a Logistics centre, facilities for factory test run and finishing of gas engines, as well as installation and assembly equipment. The new buildings are located within the Wärtsilä production facilities in the centre of Vaasa. The total floor area in Vaasa extends now over an area of 40 000 square metres.
The investment will increase the available capacity by the end of 2007.
