Wärtsilä Serck Como
Land Based Evaporators
Wärtsilä Serck Como’s land-based evaporation plants are designed to produce fresh water from sea water, well water or industrial water.
Wärtsilä Serck Como land based evaporator plants are used for both ships and land-based installations for producing process and potable water. They are also used to reduce industrial waste water volumes.
Mechanical Vapour Compression (MVC)
The MVC process is driven using a reliable industrial vapour fan with speed control, while highly efficient mist eliminators (demisters) guarantee optimum distillate quality. Efficient plate type heat exchangers ensure optimum heat recovery so that no additional heat supply is required for start-up or continuous operation.
Multi Stage Flash Evaporators
This process uses brine recirculation for land based applications. No boiling occurs inside the tubes, thus minimising the risk of scaling. Components in contact with sea water or distillate are manufactured of corrosion-resistant materials (e.g. copper-nickel, stainless steel) and each evaporator is subjected to a pressure test before leaving the factory.
Thermal Vapour Compression (TVC) Evaporators
The advantages of Wärtsilä Serck Como TVC evaporators include highly efficient mist eliminators, which guarantee optimum distillate quality, and the efficient pre-separation of sea water droplets from the vapour. Seasonal changes of sea water temperature are automatically compensated, plus our evaporators can be delivered as packaged units with all integral piping, pumps, valves, switchboard etc. included.
