Almirante Don Juan De Borbon
Commissioned in 2003, the ‘Almirante Don Juan De Borbon’ is the second of five Alvaro de Bazan Class multipurpose frigates (also known as F100 frigates) operated by the Spanish Navy. For each vessel, Wärtsilä supplies two controllable pitch propellers and the shafting systems.
To be noted: the Australian Hobart class destroyer, as announced by the Australian government, is based on the F100 frigate. The first vessel is expected to enter service in 2014.
