Logistics includes ensuring the delivery of the right genuine parts, at the right location, at the right time while minimising the cost. The process involves parts identification, accurate information handling, and final parts inspection. Important factors for delivery are speed of response and flexibility. The third element – cost – extends beyond the production or purchasing cost as additional costs can be generated by quality or delivery deficiencies. Hence it is important to go for genuine and original parts.
Procurement is concerned with planning the availability of parts, building up the supplier and production network, and the actual parts ordering process.
Our Procurement & Logistics team in Winterthur comprises around 50 professionals, together with some 20 in Moerdijk in the Netherlands and another five people in other locations around the world.
