China - Northern group: China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC)
CSIC is the largest group in China in the field of design, manufacture, and trade of civilian and military ships, marine engineering and marine equipment. There are 48 industrial enterprises, 28 scientific & technological research institutes, 15 share holding companies in CSIC, spread across more than 20 provinces and cities in China, with a total number of employees of 170,000.

Dalian Marine Diesel Works (DMD)
Generally DMD is focussing on bigger bore engines.




Qingdao Qiyao Wärtsilä MHI Linshan Marine Diesel Co. Ltd. (QMD)
QMD will become operational in the end of 2008. They produce low speed two- stroke marine diesel engines mainly for the Chinese market in a power range of 8'300 kW to 68'640 kW.



Yichang Marine Diesel Engine Co Ltd (YMD)
Generally engine size is limited to bores smaller than 620 mm.

 

Zhenjiang CME Co Ltd (CME)
CME signed a licence agreement in 2008 to build Wärtsilä RT-flex common-rail low-speed engines. CME will focus on building engines of 50 cm bore and smaller. The first engines will be completed by CME in the second halöf of 2009.


China - Southern group: China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC)
CSSC's main business is shipbuilding, covering both the civilian and naval vessels. Under its wing, there are altogether 60 fully-owned enterprises and shareholding institutions, including a group of the most powerful and often renowned shipbuilding and shiprepairing yards, research and design institutes, marine-related equipment manufacturers and trading firms in China.



Hudong Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. (HHM)
Generally HHM is building both small and bigger bore engines.

Hefei Rong’an Power Machinery Co Ltd (RPM)
RPM signed a licence agreement to build all sizes of Wärtsilä low-speed engines. The first engines are due to be completed by the end of 2009. RPM will serve a new shipyard which is being built on a four square kilometer site near Nantong, China.
