With over 50 years of experience, Wärtsilä in Canada is one of North America's largest re-babbitters. We can cast and machine bearings from 1 inch up to 12 feet in diameter. The bearings are babbitted by either a static or centrifugal process depending on the application and requirements.
On the marine side we work with class surveyors and 3rd party ultra sonic inspectors to confirm the dimensions and bond on big end bearings, main bearings or stern tube bearings. We can guarantee up to 100% bonding, if required, and all machining is performed under torque along with the final inspection by class.
We also have the capacity, knowhow and experience to manufacture new bearing shells for the Sulzer RT engines within a very short time frame. Again, these are certified by class and inpected throughout the job.
On the industrial side we work with engineers and plant managers to determine the scope of work and urgency. All bearings are ultra sonic inspected in-house, but if required, a 3rd party can provide a report. We specialize in thrust pads, turbine bearings, motor bearings, trunion bearings, split bearings and shell bearings.
Working around the clock we can offer quick turnaround times for breakdown situations or planned maintenance. Either way our team will work with you as to the requirements and delivery dates. Our logistics department will arrange pickup and delivery all you have to advise is where, when and what to pick up.
