DuraFlake is Wärtsilä's proprietary industrial coating, with a machinable and repairable glass filled elastomer-modified epoxy-vinyl-ester base.
The inherent toughness of the vinyl-ester resin has been enhanced by the addition of chemical resistant C glass platelets and reacting elastomer onto the backbone of the resin.
DuraFlake coatings provide increased adhesive strength and superior abrasion and mechanical stress resistance, in addition to significantly increasing the lifespan of components without loss of physical strength or chemical resistance.
