About Wärtsilä in Azerbaijan

Wärtsilä in Azerbaijan is part of Wärtsilä’s extensive global service network that provides marine and energy customers support throughout the lifecycle of their installations by maintaining and optimizing the equipment, its efficiency and its performance in the most environmentally effective sound way.

We provide total service solutions for your business 24/7. These service solutions cover everything from basic support with parts, field service and technical support to service agreements and condition based maintenance, from installation and commissioning, performance optimization, upgrades and conversions, to environmental solutions, technical information and online support. We provide full service throughout the product life-cycle for our marine shipyard customers.

Energy Business

Since 2005 Wärtsilä has delivered seven power plants to Azerbaijan, with a total output of 860 MW. All power plants are operated by a state owned utility company. During 2005-2007 Wärtsilä supplied 52 Wärtsilä 20V34SG (20-cylinder,V-type, 34sm-dia cylinder bore, single gas fuel) engines. In 2007 Wärtsilä was granted an EPC contract and delivery of a 300 MW power plant based on Wärtsilä 18V50DF (18-cylinder, V-type, 50cm-dia cylinder bore, DF-dual fuel) engines to Sangachal and a 104 MW plant with 12 main drive Wärtsilä 20V34SG engines in Guba to supply the Shakhdag sport complex with electricity.

Marine Business

In Azerbaijan the Marine Business offers ship design, new equipment and packaged solutions for the whole marine segment, with strong presence in offshore industry, sea-river vessels, tankers, dry cargo vessels and RoPax, Rail ferries and passenger ships. In addition Wärtsilä holds the leading position in medium speed 4-stroke engine technology as well as a strong position in the solutions for the power generation and propulsion solutions for special vessels as ice breakers, salvage vessels, tugs, offshore and special vessels.
