Products and environmental aspects

 

The environmental aspects of Wärtsilä’s products are mainly related to their use. The most significant environmental aspects concern engines, which produce mechanical and thermal energy. In order to produce energy, engines use fuel and lubricants, which results in various kinds of exhaust emissions and waste. Exhaust gases and engine cooling also produce waste heat into the air and water.
