Wladyslaw Orkan

Wladyslaw Orkan

The Chinese-Polish Joint Stock Shipping Co (Chipolbrok) is the owner of more than 20 modern multi-purpose vessels ideal for carrying heavy unit loads, as well as a wide range of general cargoes, bulk cargoes and containers. Their services circumnavigate the globe: Europe - China/East Asia and back as well as to/from the US Gulf.

In 2003/04 Chipolbrok took delivery of four 30,000 dwt multi-purpose carriers contracted at Shanghai Shipyard in China to extend their fleet – the Wladyslaw Orkan, Chipolbrok Sun, Chipolbrok Moon and Leopold Staff.

Wärtsilä solution
For the Wladyslaw Orkan and her three sister ships, Wärtsilä supplied each ship with a Wärtsilä 7RT-flex60C main engine and three Wärtsilä 6L20 auxiliary engines.

Chipolbrok had a clear preference for Wärtsilä RT-flex main engines because of their expectations in operational economy and in reaching the highest environmental standards. Wärtsilä RT-flex engines are the first low-speed engines to have electronically controlled common-rail systems for fuel injection and valve actuation. They thus have unrivalled flexibility in the way the engines operate, to deliver benefits such as lower exhaust emissions, lower fuel consumption at part load, and better manoeuvring ability.
