Ultra Low Emission (ULE) Solution

Ultra Low Emission (ULE) Solution

Wärtsilä ULE solution is a multi-component reduction unit for challenging emission requirements.

The ULE unit reduces NOx, CO and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions to the lowest practical level. The unit is typically used for big gas or dual-fuel fired engine plants and especially when the plant is located in polluted airshed. NOx emissions are typically reduced by 90-95 % in the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process and CO and VOC emissions effectively oxidized by means of strong oxidation catalyst.

Reducing agent, ammonia or urea, of appropriate quality is required for the SCR phase.

Features

  • Applicable with Wärtsilä gas and dual-fuel engines
  • Concurrent reduction of NOx, CO and hydrocarbon emissions
  • NOx reduction typically 90-95 %
  • Oxidation stage to be designed according to the project specific data
  • No solid or liquid end-product produced
