The Oceanguard seal is a non polluting stern tube sealing system, which can be used either for new build or retrofitting to existing vessels. The aft seal which is a combination of a face type and lip seals utilises the latest technology in materials and design. These advances in technology and materials allow the recommended period between overhaul to be extended from the traditional 5 years for most other seal systems, to 7.5 years, reducing the through life cost for the owner and giving the potential for extending dry dock periods. The aft seal is protected by a unique rope net protection device, thus giving the ship-owner piece of mind that no unscheduled dry dockings will occur as result of rope or nets damaging the seal.
