Satiesh Muniandy is designing an interactive 3D model of a power plant. ”In a way, my job is like playing,” he says. He uses a game editor in the demanding work, which seems to be just fine for this enthusiastic worker and for the job. But Satiesh says the most important lesson he is learning is working in a multicultural environment.
Malaysian native Satiesh studied for three years in the United States, where he came up with the idea of getting a summer job in Finland. ”I applied for a job via the internet site. I wanted to try something new.” Satiesh wasn’t previously familiar with Wärtsilä, but after some research he was convinced of the company’s good reputation. ”Wärtsilä lives up to its reputation. It has made an impression on me.”
Satiesh also believes in the growth of the entire sector and figures he will stay in it. But he still has one more year of electrical engineering studies and perhaps postgraduate studies after that. He enjoys both school and work. ”There is always something new to learn, and you can’t get work experience from text books.”
